Dear friends in the evangelical church in America,
I wish I could write of happier things, like the salvation we all share, but there is a more urgent matter at hand which demands our immediate attention. It is that we must contend earnestly for the true faith that has been entrusted to us.
You see, a certain godless man has slipped into the church under false pretenses, with the intention to corrupt us. He has changed the grace of our God into a license for immorality as he denies Jesus by his words and actions. He is famously immoral, a sexual assailant who cheats on his wife with porn stars, commits felonies, steals money from charities[1] and promotes violence. He aligns himself with cruel dictators as he bullies and threatens our true allies. He rejects God's authority, but has somehow managed to convince large swaths of the church that he is "chosen" to lead America toward a "Godly agenda."
He slanders what he does not understand, and, like an unreasoning animal, speaks abusively toward those who attempt to correct him, even calling people who are made in God's image, "Human Scum." Woe to him! In his pride, selfishness, greed, and lust for power, he has disregarded God's will for truth, and has taken the way of Cain. In a display of murderous disobedience on January 6th, 2021, he rushed for self-profit into Balaam's error and abandoned himself in Korah's rebellion.
A dangerous reef, he has shipwrecked the faith of many believers. He pretends to be a believer, even going so far as to pitch Bibles with his name on them, and claiming to be "the only one who can save us," feasting without reverence on the symbolism of God, feeding only himself. He is a waterless cloud, a tree without fruit, a wild wave of shame.
You may remember that our prophets warned against men like him - grumblers and malcontents who would follow after their own lusts, boast about themselves incessantly, and give bombastic speeches, enchanting folks for their own gain. Recall what Peter said, that in the last days, there would be blatant mockers of God, propelled by their own evil desires. He said they would be worldly, divisive, devoid of the spirit, but still able to manipulate and entice many into spiritual slavery. So this is where we are. Many have resisted, but some have become slaves to this man's corruption. According to Peter, they are in great spiritual danger. [2]
Because of the great disgrace this man has brought upon God's glory, I urge you, dear friends, to fight for the truth. Build yourselves up in your most holy faith by praying in the Holy Spirit and keeping yourself in the love of God. Be merciful to all, try to snatch as many from the fire as possible, hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh. As you do this, be assured that our LORD will keep you from falling and cause you to stand in his glorious presence without fault and with great joy. And remember. . .
"To the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen." [3]
